Elemis unveil Daily Defence Shield SPF30

Elemis have launched Daily Defence Shield SPF 30 to protect skin against everyday environmental stressors such as environmental microparticles and harmful UV rays.
A host of factors can have an adverse reaction on the skin, including sunlight (UVA and UVB), pollution and high-energy visible light (HEV light) from computer, tablet and phone screens, known as blue light. Overtime these environmental aggressors diminish skin quality. Daily Defence Shield offers broad protection against these factors.
Noella Gabriel, Elemis Co-Founder and President, says:
“We already know that stress is a silent ager, and so is sun damage. Now there is evidence to suggest that blue light from all the screens we're exposed to on a daily basis may cause long-term ageing as well. It's not enough to protect our skin from UVA/UVB rays. On average we look at our phones 157 times per day. This product offers broad protection against factors in the environment, including blue light that can be emitted from the technology we love so much.”
Featuring Coconut and Jojoba oils, the product's super-light texture leaves skin feeling nourished, soft and supple, creating the perfect base for make-up as well as stepping up the skin's defences.
Other key ingredients include a Polysaccharide Matrix which physically shields against pollution. Phyto-Melantin protects the skin against oxidative stress which can be caused by absorbing blue light, whilst a micronised sunscreen ‘absorber filters' act like a sponge to soak up the sun's ultraviolet rays and converting them into safer infrared warmth. In addition, Carnosine supports the skin's natural defences against UV whilst Argania Leaf offers multi-action protection against oxidative stress.
