Search for PETA approved vegan beauty & hair

Veganism is a hot topic right now, and animal rights organisation PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) have issued additions to their Beauty Without Bunnies and 'Cruelty-Free and Vegan' list of suppliers.

PETA Beauty Without Bunnies logosThe database show which companies have joined the PETA approved list, so you can be sure that their products are produced with vegan credentials and without any cruelty to animals.

PETA's Director, Elisa Allen, comments:

“As awareness of and demand for cruelty-free and vegan products increase, more and more companies are signing the PETA US cruelty-free pledge and creating vegan product lines – and conscientious consumers can ensure that they're choosing kindness over cruelty by looking for brands and items with the Beauty Without Bunnies 'Cruelty-Free and Vegan' logo.”

PETA's online database enables consumers to search for brands that do not test of animals, that do test on animals, that produce products cruelty free, that work for regulatory change, or that are vegan. PETA identify companies who are ‘working for regulatory change' as those that test on animals only when required to by law but are completely transparent with PETA about which tests they conduct and why, and are actively working to promote development of non-animal methods.

Once PETA have certified a company as meeting their cruelty-free criteria, they have the opportunity to license the PETA cruelty-free bunny logo for use on product labels and promotional materials.

There are more than 3,000 cruelty-free companies on the PETA database which, as well as the newly certified brands, include high street names The Body Shop and Paul Mitchell Systems.

Some of the most recently PETA-approved brands include Umberto Giannini Haircare, Prima Makeup, and Coco & Eve.
